03.09.08 IFA, Ulster GAA and Ulster Rugby players back young men’s mental health campaign
The IFA, Ulster GAA and Ulster Rugby have united in support of the Health Promotion Agency for Northern Ireland (HPA) campaign to encourage young men, particularly those aged 15 to 24 years, to talk about their problems and seek help.
The three organisations, represented by Armagh’s Oisin McConville, Crusaders’ Colin Coates, and Ulster Rugby’s Justin Fitzpatrick are lending their support to the HPA campaign and raising awareness of mental health issues among players and supporters.

As children are returning to schools this September, changes in what they can buy to eat and drink will be seen at breakfast clubs, break time, in tuck shops and in vending machines. Since September 2007 all schools have had to comply with Nutritional Standards for school lunches, which were extended in April 2008 to cover all food and drink provided in schools.......

25.06.08 Children not doing enough physical activity for their health
Children and young people in Northern Ireland are becoming increasingly inactive, which is contributing to a growing number being overweight or obese. A joint seminar by the Health Promotion Agency for Northern Ireland (HPA) and Sport Northern Ireland (SNI) to examine ways to increase participation in sport and physical activity, and reverse the sedentary trend among the young, was held today in Kells.....

17.06.08 Children here have the worst dental decay in the United Kingdom
Dental decay is a significant public health problem here, especially among our children. Research with children throughout the UK revealed that 61% of 5 year olds in Northern Ireland had signs of decay compared to the UK average of 43% for the same age group.....
